Promotional Mouse Pads

Friday, February 29th, 2008

By Kristy Annely Promotional mouse pads are simply mouse pads (for computer mice) that are designed with a particular logo or other design and given away for free to the general public. Promotional mouse pads are a great means of advertisement for all businesses large and small. They act as an excellent medium for a commercial message. This is because practically everyone has a computer, and all computers need mouse pads. Promotional mouse pads are inexpensive, cost effective and a great means of propagating services, products and websites. Promotional mouse pads are a great source for tradeshow give-aways, launching a new product or promoting an event. They also serve as great thank you gifts and business identity products at conventions. Memories are short, so promotional mouse pads serve as a lasting impression in building brand awareness. Promotional mouse pads distributed to employees serve as effective incentives to boost productivity, while encouraging loyalty. They build the morale of the employees while creating a sense of teamwork. Many companies prefer having mouse pads custom made with their logo, address and phone number to make an even greater lasting impression. The advent of the digital revolution has brought about short turnaround times with better pricing on small production runs. However, offset printing proves to be a cheaper option for large quantities of promotional mouse pads, provided there is sufficient lead-time. Promotional mouse pads can be ordered online. These orders usually take about three weeks or so, but you can place a rush order with rush charges applied. Weight Loss Discussion - To Be or Not to Be FAT??

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

By Jennie Winter Show me a female who can sincerely admit that she is happy with her appearance in every way. Someone, who wouldnt change a thing about herself/himself even if it was as easy as just wishing it. Unless that person is a bold one living-on-some-mountain monk, I dont think that that kind of person exists. Our physical shape is dictated to us as well as anything else is: dress according to the latest fashion, date the coolest guys (also make sure your parents like them), read the right books, eat the right food. What is the right food, I wonder. Do you open your refrigerator and a carton of milk jumps out of it into your lap, screaming: I am good for your heath! Drink me! And quit staring at that chocolate cake!!!. No help from groceries? Need not worry, cause precisely at this point, tones of real good articles and health books emerge to your assistance. Before you know it, your head is overloaded with useful advises of the greatest diets, best cosmetics and the safest birth control accessories this is when you lose control instead of gaining it. Your head is spinning, ready to blow up any second, too much information (this would be a good time for me to advise you on a really-really good diet, Just kidding). This is the point when you should stop. First thing first, take a deep breath. Have you ever considered that perhaps you need not a diet? (Shame on me, I know) But still, could there be any chance at all that all you need is the right nutrition? Im sure youve all heard about dystrophy an unpleasant disease that turns a beautiful body into a living (in the better cases) skeleton. Dystrophy, as other such mischief, often arises from the notion that if you are not a top-model-skinny-creature, girl, you are fat. Caring For And Sharpening Your Woodworking Chisels

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

By Douglas Taylor There are many types of woodworking chisels around. But no matter which type of chisels you have they all need to be cared for and at some point your woodworking chisel will need sharpening. During this article we will explain how to care for your chisels and the steps you need to take for woodworking chisel sharpening. It is important that you do not store your woodworking chisels loosely in a draw where they will be able to bang against each other, which will cause the edges to become dulled. It is best if you hang them on a rack on place them in a drawer in individual dividers. By doing this the chisels will be less likely to bang into each and cause damage to them. What is more important though is that in order for a woodworking chisel to work properly the cutting edge must remain sharp. Below we provide you with steps you will need to take in order to properly sharpen your woodworking chisel using sharpening stones of progressive grades. You may also find that you need to touch up your chisels regularly by honing the flat side as well in order to keep them in the best working condition possible. What you first need to do is put a few drops of oil on to a sharpening stone before you start to lubricate it. Now hold the chisel at a 20-degree angle to the stone and slide the cutting edge of the chisel up and down the stones length. You need to work both sides of the chisel blade evenly in order that a burr edge forms along the cutting edge of the chisel. The best way to test for the burr is by very lightly dragging your finger away from the cutting edge. Should you be able to feel a slight roughness to the edge of the chisel then you know the blade is ready for the next step in the sharpening process. You get a slip stone in order to hone away some of the burr before you finally polish it on a strop. In order to remove the final remaining bits of the burr edge as well as polish the chisel blade you need a leather strop. What you do is draw the blade across the strop away from the cutting edge first one side then the other until the whole of the burr has been removed. You will know that your woodworking chisel sharpening has been completed by just resting the cutting edge of the blade very lightly on your fingernail. If the blade starts to catch slightly or feels sticky then the blade is ready to use, but if it skids across the nail then you need to work on sharpening for a little longer. Weight Loss Setbacks and the “All or Nothing” Attitude

Monday, February 25th, 2008

By Victor Holtreman I want to talk about the “all or nothing” outlook that is death to any attempt to lose fat and get in shape. You’re probably familiar with this concept… you might be rolling along making progress at losing fat for a few weeks when a holiday rolls around (typically Thanksgiving) or during the summer you have some company that comes to visit for a week. Suddenly the rules you’ve been following go out the window: There are goodies all around, and with all the friends and family there’s no time (or thought) given to working out. Next thing you know, you look at the scale and you’ve put on two, three or four pounds over the course of a week or two. Weight that you worked so hard to lose, and took you probably twice that long to take off. Your first reaction is probably to say “The hell with it, what’s the point?” and go back to your old ways, and for good measure you probably end up even more overweight than where you started. Believe me, that’s completely understandable. The problem is that although the human body is a miraculous thing, it can also be brutally unforgiving when it comes to staying in shape. You can lose months of hard won fitness in a couple of weeks. I’ve always been big on analogies, and here’s a simple one that I personally use when I “fall off the wagon” as far as diet and working out: Instead of looking at a setback as a total car wreck, look at it as just a minor fender-bender. You see, although the body can be unforgiving, it also has memory, and if you get back to your regime you’ll find that you will bounce back and reach your prior level of fitness/weight much faster than it took to get there the first time. So the next time you backtrack and put on a couple of pounds, don’t throw your hands up in dismay. Instead, do an “Indiana Jones”: Put that hat back on, pull down that brim, get that determined look back in your eye and get back on track! Victor Holtreman is the author of Lose the Last 10 Pounds, an eBook which chronicles his 2 month journey from 13% to 9% body fat using kettlebells. He is also the author of the Kettlebell-Training.com site and a number of other fitness related sites. A Guide To Home Equity Loans

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Karin_Boode]Karin Boode There are several options to secure a home equity loan with a good interest rate and acceptable term. That is, if you have sufficient equity in your home to secure the home equity loan that you apply for. Interesting enough, if you have the collateral to secure the loan, your credit rating is not all that important. After all, the loan is secured. The real key to finding good home equity loans is to take your time to research the various loan options available to you and to pick the loan that offers you both the best interest rate and the most agreeable loan terms for your money. Below you’ll find details on the best way to compare various home owner loans so as to find a better deal. Comparing interest rates The very first thing you need to do in order to compare home equity loans is get several quotes for potential loans. It pays off to check with a wide variety of lenders from different backgrounds, such as traditional banks, online lenders, and finance companies. Once you’ve received the quotes, you need to compare the interest rates on each home equity loans offer. Dont be surprised if you find big differences. You may find that the traditional banks offer low rates in comparison to finance companies, or that online lenders offer slightly lower interest rates than some of their competition? At this point you should have a good impression of the range of interest rates, available in the market place. Narrow the total number of loan offers down to the top 3 or 4 loan quotes; it’s from these potential home equity loans that you’ll be deciding on the loan offer that you finally accept. Comparing loan terms After you’ve created your short list of potential home equity loans, it’s time to decide on the best loan from the list. Begin looking at the loan terms of each one in earnest? Factors such as the total monthly payment, and the number of months that repayment is expected to last, are crucial in your decision making process. Make sure that it is permitted to make early payments, without paying a penalty. Other factors that should influence your decision are whether or not the different loans have a fixed interest rate or whether the interest rate can fluctuate? You should also make sure to note whether fixed-rate loans retain the same rate for the entire loan term, or whether the loan rate is only introductory and reverts to a higher rate after a certain period of time has passed. Once you’ve found your loan, go ahead and complete the application process so that you can move past your financial worries and fulfill your dreams. Jesus Christ - Superman - Part Five

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

By Linda Dipman It’s a bird. . It’s a plane. . No! It’s Jesus Christ, Superman, Savior of the world! Peter was shaking and crying without even realizing what he was doing, he denied Jesus three times! He thought he would be able to stand up to the pain and the suffering he saw Jesus going through and Be A Man! Wasn’t he a fisherman who was use to the difficulties of a grueling trade that demanded strength and determination. John looked at Peter as this large muscle framed man ran from the court yard in defeat. Both had seen the intensity of hatred that was perpetrated against Jesus. Both knew that Jesus’ words concerning His death was about to be fulfilled and they could do nothing but watch it take place. The helplessness of that moment facilitated them into seeing how impossible it was to follow God on their own. Even with all the miracles they saw Jesus perform, they lacked the strength of determination they needed to hold their ground when it could lead to imminent death. All those who loved Jesus and knew his miracle working power abandoned Him. Jesus stood alone with no support as Pilate began the process of putting Him to death by taking Him through a mock up of a trial that was completely prejudice against Him. John 18: 35-38, “Pilate replied, ‘Do you think I am a Jew? It was your own people and the chief priests who handed you over to me. What have you done.’ Jesus said, ‘My kingdom does not belong to this world; if my kingdom belonged to this world, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish authorities. No, my kingdom does not belong here!’ So Pilate asked him, ‘Are you a king, then?’ Jesus answered, ‘You say that I am a king. I was born and came into the world for this one purpose, to speak about the truth. Whoever belongs to the truth listens to me.’ ‘And what is truth?’ Pilate asked.” Pilate was in a cloud of darkness because he had no faith in an unseen God. He was the governor of the providence of Jerusalem. He had no understanding of the Jews except that Jesus was a so-called God and this was against their faith. He had been told about the miracles this man preformed. Yet all he could see was just a man. Even if Jesus had explained to Him how the game of life worked, Pilate would not have seen any purpose in the game. He was a powerful, influential, rich man. He didn’t need Jesus as his Savior. All he wanted was the Jewish religious leaders to leave him alone and allow him to rule in peace. Pilate had Jesus flogged. The soldiers put a crown of thorns on his head and a purple robe. They slapped Him and mocked Him. John 19:7-11, “The crowd answered back, ‘We have a law that says he ought to die, because he claimed to be the Son of God’ When Pilate heard this, he was even more afraid. He went back into the palace and asked Jesus, ‘Where do you come from’ But Jesus did not answer. Pilate said to him, ‘You will not speak to me? Remember, I have the authority to set you free and also to have you crucified’ Jesus answered, ‘You have authority over me only because it was given to you by God. So the man who handed me over to you is guilty of a worse sin.’” A new dawn began with a truth that is only understood by those who follow Jesus. The truth that God is in control of the world game of life. God allows suffering when the suffering serves a purpose. Jesus came to be the Savior of the world. He suffered and died for our sins so we might have an easier path to God. The Laws condemned people, but the crucifixion freed people and gave them the supernatural gift of the Holy Spirit. Why did my spouse abandon me? Why did my friend die? Why do bad things happen to good people? Why do I have cancer? All of these questions can be answered when we look at life in the perspective of a game of good versus evil. We are not alone we have a divine purpose. We are appointed to lives that are flawed so we might fight battles for God on every evil front. If you were a child of incest or abused by a parent, you break the chain of abuse with Jesus Christ as your Savior. He gives you the power to remember your suffering and gives you the ability to not repeat the abuse to your own child. If you’re born into poverty and homelessness, Jesus gives you the ability to help those who suffered like you suffered. If you were falsely accused and jailed for a crime you didn’t commit, Jesus takes what you learned about the cruelties of our justice system and helps you to be a crusader to change the system. Everything you go through when you are a child of God leads you down paths of righteousness that put you into situations so you will stand up to evil and change it. To know the truth about life is to fight for God. We are not suppose to be pulled into a lifestyle because we can’t change the people around us. We are suppose to do what is right and stand our ground with God’s help. Above the cross of Jesus was a sign that stated, Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews. The words were written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. John 20: 29&30, “A bowl was there, full of cheap wine; so a sponge was soaked in the wine, put on a stalk of hyssop, and lifted up to his lips. Jesus drank the wine and said, ‘It is finished!’ Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” Jesus died for our sins so we might have the ability to call on Him immediately when bad things happen to us. His death started the beginning to a new game of life that equips God’s servants with the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit of truth. Jesus Christ, Superman, Savior of the World, took the Laws of Moses that demanded a sacrifice for sin and replaced it with a simple request. Please forgive me for my sins! Please help me for I am lost! Please open my eyes so I might see the truth so I can overcome what is wrong with my life. Please help me to stand up to those who abuse me and not be pulled into repeating the abuse. Peter ran away the day that Jesus was condemned because he was a weak human man. Later equipped with the Holy Spirit, Peter was a different man. A man who stood up to the Roman government and taught all people, who would listen, how to be saved. Peter became a Superman, because Jesus Christ came to him in Spirit form and helped him to stand up to the persecution he faced for trusting God with his life. When Peter was old he died on a cross just like Jesus, except he died upside down believing that he was not worthy to die in the same fashion as his Savior. He stood up to evil and his death was a victory for God. Jesus Christ, Superman, was like every man except He refused to allow fear to keep Him from accomplishing His mission. Fight for God and pick up your cross and follow Jesus Christ, Superman, the Savior of the World! Caring for Your African American or Biracial Child’s Hair

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

By Mahisha Dellinger Part I Caring for your angels tresses can be a daunting experience, but it doesnt have to be. Armed with the proper education, the right technique, and, most importantly, the right products you can master the art of caring for ethnic hair. For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with hair. Because my hair was easy to manage, I began styling my own hair at an early age. Using my long locks, I taught myself how to french braid and soon became a styling expert (or so I thought). As I matured, my interest in healthy Black hair peaked. I learned which hair care ingredients were good for my hair type and which ingredients were not. I learned how to shampoo, condition, and properly handle my hair. Most importantly, I learned to love my hair. With the proper care, your child will love his/her hair too! Over the years Ive read, seen, and experienced unbelievable acts of ignorance regarding ethnic hair care. It is my attempt to provide a few basic tips and tricks so you will avoid common pitfalls A Few Things You Should Know Black hair is extremely fragile. A gentle touch is required to avoid unnecessary breakage and hair loss. Therefore, always use a wide tooth comb or pick when combing the hair. Avoid fine tooth combs as they snag and pull out curly/kinky hair. Invest in a quality brush; natural boar brushes are the best. Curly/kinky hair needs moisture, moisture, and more moisture! Consider this when purchasing hair care products. Avoid drying products such as hair spray, mousse, holding gels, etc. Opt for moisturizers, leave in conditioners, and styling lotions. All products are not created equal. Just because a product claims to be created for curly hair doesnt guarantee that it will be suitable for ethnic curly hair. Products created for Nicole Kidmans curly hair may not work for Angela Bassetts. Caucasian hair tends to produce more sebum (oily secretion created by the sebaceous gland) than Black textured hair; therefore, Black hair requires more oil. Read, no, scrutinize the ingredient list. Look for natural oils and quality ingredients. Remember, the ingredients are listed in order of volume. Common Mistakes Made When Caring for Ethnic Hair Error #1 - Over shampooing Black hair should not be shampooed every day, or every other day for that matter. Instead, shampoo your childs hair every 7 days max! We recommend shampooing 2x a month. I know this may confuse those who shampoo daily; however, you must remember that Black hair needs oil, and because it distributes less sebum, frequent shampooing can dry out the hair and scalp. Tip for getting through “shampoo-less” days: Rinse hair with warm water, apply conditioner, and rinse well. This will give you a clean start and provide added conditioning and moisture without stripping away protective oils. Error #2 - Under conditioning Proper conditioning is one of the most important steps for healthy hair. Unfortunately, most do not take the time to adequately do so. I recommend giving your daughter a deep conditioning (with heat) once a month, especially during the winter season. Error #3 - Using the wrong products Weve discussed the need for natural oils for Black hair. However, you must know that not all oil is good oil. One misconception that plagues African Americans concerning hair care is the use of grease. Grease (thick pomade-like product that usually contains mineral oil and/or petrolatum) is commonly used to moisturize dry hair and scalp. Do not use products that contain mineral oil or petrolatum. Both of these cheap oils clog pores, rob the hairs moisture and can retard hair growth. Natural oils are the best bet. Jojoba and coconut oil are great conditioning oils. Shea butter is an excellent moisturizer. Avocado oil is rich in vitamins A, D, and E; potassium, and scalp soothing sulfur. Error #4 - Combing, detangling, and styling faux pas - To avoid pain, tears, and massive hair loss when combing out kinky hair, part the hair into four sections. Get a tight grip on the hair (not to hurt your child) and start combing at the bottom and work your way up to the top, section by section. If her hair is extremely thick and coarse, secure the combed out section with a pony tail holder to avoid further tangling. You should always use a moisturizer when combing her out hair, doing so will help to soften the hair and ease comb-ability. NEVER USE WATER TO WET THE HAIR! Girls and ponytails seem to go hand and hand. Here are a few tips to avoid pig tail disaster. Do not use rubber bands to secure her pony tails, instead use elastics and covered bands. Rubber bands can cause undue breakage and damage. Remember to ALWAYS remove the pony tail holders before bed time. Make sure you braid (or twist) the hair completelyall the way to the ends. Exposing the ends to environmental elements will guarantee split ends. I recommend adding a coat of leave in conditioner to the ends before braiding for extra protection. Remember, the ends are the oldest and most fragile part of the hair. They require extra attention. I hope these brief tips will encourage you to invest in the health of your childs hair. What You Need: Wide tooth comb or pickthe wider the better. Natural bristle brush. Hydrating shampoo. Moisturizing Conditioner. A daily moisturizer this will add needed moisture, and ease comb-ability. Natural oils to apply to the hair. Cream hair dressing for light control of frizzes. Why We Date

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

By Andrew Bicknell As human beings we have what can be considered some of the strangest mating rituals in the animal kingdom. Most species hook up with members of the opposite sex to procreate and nothing else. There is no emotional bond that ties them together for the rest of their lives other than the need to continue the species. Now that’s not to say that all animals are like this, there are some species out there that do mate for life, but the overall percentage of those types are small. Sure, you can say that many animals have mating rituals that rival ours. There are male birds that flaunt their colorful plumage trying to attract a female, but is that really dating or just a type of seduction? And in the end isn’t that what going on dates is all about, seducing that someone we’ve had our eye on. Dating is a form of seduction, only for us humans it can sometimes take a much longer time for the desired results to be had. In the animal world there is a specific time of the year when seduction and mating can take place, and with the exception of humans, dolphins and some primates, animals mate to continue their species and not for the pure pleasure of it. For most animals it is the drive to survive as a species. We humans have taken the whole dating/seduction ritual to unforseen heights. Just think of all the things we do to try and impress that special someone. And why do we want to impress them? Because we think we like them and if we don’t do our best to seduce them using all sorts of dating tricks and techniques then someone else will and that’s just not acceptable. So why do we date? To impress someone we are interested in? I would say yes on that one. I can’t think of any other reason to spend that kind of time and money other then to do just that. To continue the human species? This is a far more subjective question. Do we really need more humans on the world? That’s debatable. I think for the majority of humans it’s for a little more selfish reasons and that’s to have somone come after us who carries the family name onward into the future. Just for the fun of it? Now here’s whole another way to look at it. Meeting new people is fun. Particularly if you are attracted to them. Dating is fun and it introduces us to whole new ways of thinking and approaching people. The why do we date question is a hard one to answer, but whatever your reasons may be it’s a part of what makes us human. Andrew Bicknell is a writer and owner of Romancing Hearts.com. Car Loans Drive Down the Cost

Friday, February 15th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michael_Challiner]Michael Challiner Most car buyers spend hours researching the makes and models of car before deciding which to buy. Then four out of ten rush out to the showroom and sign up for the car within 30 minutes of stepping inside. But will their painstaking research extend to sourcing the cheapest finance package? Probably not. Whilst around 50% of new cars bought privately are purchased on finance, nearly 20% sign up in the showroom for the finance deal offered by the manufacturer. Unfortunately that could turn out to be a costly decision. With typical manufacturers finance costing 13.7% per year over a 3 year and including a 10% deposit, they could be throwing some 1,800 down the drain. Take someone buying a new Renault Megane Sport Saloon Privilege 1.6 and let’s assume that it costs 16,000 on the road. Including 3 years interest that means the full cost will be 17,384. However, there is a much cheaper option. With a good credit history you could get a personal loan at only 5.5% and end up paying just 15,631 that’s a full saving of 1,753. This goes to prove the old adage that it pays to shop around. Rushing to accept the dealers finance package can hit your pocket hard it’s effectively giving back the discount we hope you negotiated! OK, I can hear talking about the special finance offers that manufacturers are forever advertising. Yes, there are some really good deals - but always look closely. Some deals only relate to specific models with a set specification, often the cars that the manufacturers are having trouble shifting. A beware some deals have a sting in their tail. Take Volkswagens’ current offer on the Polo E2. Their deal is advertised at 5.8% with a monthly repayment of 99 over 35 months sounds a great deal but look more closely and you’ll find there’s a final balloon payment of 3,750 or alternatively you can trade in your E2 for another Volkswagen. The car manufacturers use these deals to promote brand loyalty and encourage another purchase in 3 years time. They know that most cars will be traded in after 3 years rather than pay the large balloon payment. Of course, personal loans and manufacturer’s finance are not the only way you could finance your car. The traditional way to pay for your car is through hire purchase. With HP you pay a deposit, usually of at least 10%, or trade in your existing car for at least the same value, and then use HP for the balance of the price. The loan is then effectively secured on your car. So in practice, your car still belongs to the HP company until you have made your last monthly payment. Then if you want to sell your car before you’ve completed the HP agreement, there will almost always be an early redemption penalty often up to three months interest. The HP company will also register its financial interest in your car with HPI the finance tracking agency. This effectively means that you will be unable to sell your car until you have paid off the HP loan. Another alternative is Personal Contract Purchase, PCP for short, and in recent years PCP has become very popular. Here you also agree the mileage you expect your car to clock up each year. You then pay a deposit and part of the purchase price is deferred until the end of the agreed payback period. Your monthly repayments then repay the balance and the interest. These schemes are highly flexible as you can select the length of the loan and the size of the deposit but you’ll find that interest rates vary considerably between lenders. The current average is about 12.8% - still well above the 5.5% rate for a cheap personal loan. At the end of the PCP contract you’ll have three options: - Pay off the deferred balance and keep the car Trade in the car using the trade in value to help pay off the deferred sum and hopefully leaving a balance towards a new car Hand in the car and walk away with nothing more to pay. This last option is always subject to your cars’ condition reflecting normal wear and tear and its mileage is in line with the annual mileage you agreed when you purchased it. If the recorded mileage exceeds the forecast mileage, then you’ll have an excess mileage charge to pay. The cost per excess mile will always be specified in the PCP agreement. One of the big advantages of PCP is that the guaranteed buy back option effectively protects customers against excessive depreciation of their car. As you would expect, car dealers take a commission for selling PCP contracts and to encourage you, you may find they’ll agree a bigger discount on your car if you take their PCP deal. If your lucky, they may even throw in a low cost servicing package or low cost insurance. But take care. You’ll need to do some homework to ensure that these extra goodies are truly worth the extra interest charged on the PCP contract.
