Weight Loss with An Acient Chinese Twist

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

By Debra Clydesdale Acupuncture Weight Loss Solutions I remember the first time I took Chinese herbs. One of my patients told me You look really tired Here take these herbs and handed me a bagful of different colored packages. It hurt to have it put so bluntly, but it was true, I was building a business, working long hours and feeling a bit drained, so I listened and took them home to use that night. One was a peach green tea that tasted like the Snapple I had been drinking earlier that day, one was an interesting tasting dark green liquid which I took with an OJ chaser and the third was a powder that I mixed up with OJ, water and soy milk to make a citrus smoothie. Not bad I thought, for Chinese herbs And then something amazing happened. I felt full! Little did I know at that time I had been given the key to my natural weight loss that I still maintain 15 years later. I loved it! I had never felt full before in my life. I had been struggling with being thin since childhood. I had learned when to stop eating in order to not gain weight; I knew all kinds of tricks like drinking water before a meal and getting up and walking away from the table. I looked at each new diet trend and I had eliminated all those bad carbohydrates from my diet and lived at the gym and I ended up thin and tired all the time. I even tried dexatrim (I may be dating myself does any body else out there remember that?) and ended up a yo-yo dieter. It was like I was in a constant battle with my body and my weight. In this process of trying everything I had never before felt this feeling of being satisfied. I loved it! So I used the herbs for a few weeks and then I proceeded to talk myself out of taking the herbs too expensive, etc and promptly got tired and sick, went back on them stopped and got sick and tired again, repeated it a third time and then I got the message that these herbs were doing something really good for my body. Then to my surprise, six months later I dropped 20 pounds without changing anything else in my life. I even began to eat more without gaining weight like I used to. I had a lifetime of experience struggling with my weight and I was amazed at how these little packages of herbs were changing my life. I would never have expected that these nutritional herbs would help me lose weight. I was so intrigued that I ended up going to Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine School to learn more. That was my door into the world of Chinese Medicine and acupuncture weight loss and Ive never looked back. Weight Loss is quite a difficult complex problem for some of us, and not even an issue for others. Just recently Language has been removed from the Medicare Coverage Issues Manual stating that obesity is not an illness. The medical science will now determine whether we provide coverage for the treatments that reduce complications and improve quality of life for the millions of Medicare beneficiaries with obesity. Being overweight is now officially a disease. And as a first step, we expect to convene our Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee in the fall to evaluate the evidence on the various surgical procedures used in treating obesity. There has to be other alternatives besides surgery. Acupuncture for Weight Loss hit the press in 2003 when Reuters, CNN and others reported of successful acupuncture weight loss clinics in China. Chinese Medicine theory, traditionally hold that overweight people have imbalanced digestive systems. By stimulating the digestive system through acupuncture and herbs, it becomes more balanced and efficient, thus nutrition is more bio-available and the person feels fuller. This is what happened to me when my metabolism came into a better balance. Other theories are that acupuncture mainly helps reduce appetite and improve metabolism. A slow increase in Obesity in China had lead to this new specialty acupuncture weight loss. A professor at a Traditional Chinese Medicine College in China states that treatments for weight reduction have been practiced, studied and refined over the past 5 years . While an exact comparison between the US and China is difficult, in China the numbers may be close to 10-13% overweight adults, as compared to 64% for the US, but with their lifestyles and economic changes this number is beginning to rise . In Beijing, the capital, students eagerly enjoy down their Kentucky Fried Chicken, McDonalds, Coca-Cola, Pepsi and pop tarts. These foods have slowly replaced the previous hot spots with traditional Chinese snacks found in places like Grandmas Dumpling House . The obesity rate among primary and middle school students has risen to 18 %, from 10% in 1991, the state Xinhua news agency said recently, citing a survey from the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention.! So what kind of acupuncture weight loss treatments do they offer in these clinics in China? Acupuncture, on the body and/or the ear, herbal supplements and exercise thats not overly taxing . These are the primary treatment modalities that are used, but Acupuncture is the pillar of their weight loss strategy. How successful are they in losing weight? Currently there are no published research studies in peer reviewed journals, only success stories emanating from the clinics. One source states On this modest program patients are said to lose between 22 and 33 pounds per month . Huge weight losses of up to 242 pounds are boasted. In China, they say that 4 of 5 patients lose weight. I was fortunate to have been trained by a colleague that studied in China learning these acupuncture weight loss treatments. We are now proud and excited to offer the Chinese nutritional herbal program that I used as well as these treatments as well and other supporting treatments for weight loss at our Oriental Medicine spa-clinic in Los Angeles. I continue to further my study and am exploring working with researchers at a major university to evaluate the efficacy of these protocols. Imagine finding solid evidence that there is a treatment for obesity that has relatively few side effects. It is exciting to see where this can go. The unique acupuncture weight loss program we are offering here in Los Angeles at the Oriental Med Spa is a synergy based on the treatment protocol currently used in China, Chinese Dietary therapy including nutrient packed supplements and nutrition for weight loss taught to physicians . It is a gradual reduction method and includes Oriental Medicine Diagnosis, a series of eight Acupuncture for Weight Loss Treatments, Auricular acupuncture (ear seeds) and herbal pharmaceutical grade Chinese nutrition supplements. Acupuncture and nutritional herbs are used primarily to strengthen the digestive system so it becomes more efficient. The food you eat is better assimilated and you feel full more quickly with less cravings. We hear I noticed that my cravings were much less on a regular basis from patients. Breathing exercises are also a vital part of our program. For additional support we also provide Chinese Nutrition diet analysis, Eating plans, Lifestyle Changes Support, RejuvaQi Qi Gong Exercises, Slim & Toned IR BodyWrap and AromaWraps for weight loss. Treatments range from active to pampering. Each program is tailored and individualized for the patients unique situation. In China they say that 4 of 5 patients lose weight. Only time will tell here in the West . Searches of medical literature show that all of the following are important, lifestyle choices such as daily exercise, smart diet choices, dealing with your inner eating demons. Others are important but havent gotten quite as much press proper breathing, body balance & flexibility, and constitution. Lets face it we all come in as a unique individual with our own DNA, personality profile and favorite foods. First is the decision to lose weight, next is the right support. This is where I believe Chinese Medicine and acupuncture for weight loss are powerful supporting tools, to help us find our own individual paths to healthy living. It is a slow gradual reduction method. It takes time as the body rebalances. It worked well for me, it has worked for others and if you are seriously looking for support for your weight loss, come in for a treatment. Wed love to share it with you. Which Diet Pills Are Safe

Monday, July 30th, 2007

By Denis Seguin Almost all weight loss diet pills promise to burn fat, increase metabolism, and keep that excess weight off. What many people don’t know is that a lot of the products on the market are unsafe. When trying to find out which diet pills are safe, there are a few things to keep an eye out for. If you’re planning to use prescription drugs, take this into consideration. While they are prescribed by your doctor, prescription diet pills are very strong, and can come with some very strong side effects as well which is why theyre not available to everyone. They should only be used in severe cases of obesity. When buying weight loss diet pills online or over the counter, first find out what type of diet pill it is. They can usually be categorized into two different sections, appetite suppressants or metabolism enhancers. Metabolism enhancers do just what they say, enhance your metabolism. Basically, metabolism is everything that occurs in your body, from building muscles and proteins, to breaking down foods and fats. By enhancing your metabolism, your body works quicker to perform tasks and can handle problems faster, including weight loss. The problem with these pills is that they increase your heart rate and blood pressure as well which increases your chances of heart attacks and strokes. Theyre bad for your heart, your kidneys, and just your health in general, which is why the most popular metabolism enhancer, Ephedra, was banned in 2004 by the FDA. Appetite suppressants work by telling your stomach that its full and not hungry. In general, natural appetite suppressants havent been found to have any significant side-effects or health risks. Recent discoveries of natural appetite suppressants such as Hoodia Gordonii have been featured on news stations as well as talk shows all across the United States. These types of diet pills have been the most popular and widely used. The market continues to grow, because they work! Always look out for products that advertise unreasonable goals. When youre losing weight, you should be realistically shedding around 1-2 lbs per week. Products advertising weight loss of 20 lbs in 2 weeks are just selling you products that wont help you. If it looks too good to be true, it is. If youre planning to use diet pills to help you lose weight, remember that they are only part of the solution. Changing your lifestyle to include a healthy diet and regular exercise are the main ingredients to helping you succeed in your fight against fat. How To Choose the Right Fly Line Weight

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

By Brett Fogle Written on the rod blank or handle is a code number which indicates the line that the rod manufacturer suggests is best for most customers; i.e., 6 line. To most fly anglers, this means that they should use nothing but a 6 weight line with this rod. But to get the full potential from different fishing situations, you may want to consider using several line sizes on your rod perhaps varying as much as two line sizes from the one suggested on the rod. Manufacturers know your rod may be used in a host of fishing situations, but they cant judge your casting style and fishing skills. So when they place a recommended line number on your rod, it is implied that its for average fishing conditions. First, understand that youre not going to damage a fly rod using fly line a little lighter or heavier than is recommended. Certainly, at times, the rod will fish better if different line sizes are used. Match line weight to conditions Let me cite several examples of when you might want to use various line weights on the same rod for different fishing conditions you may encounter. First, if you fish a swift, tumbling mountain brook, you can use a rather short leader with a dry fly. A leader of 7-1/2 feet in length would probably do the best job. But if you fish for trout with the same outfit and dry fly on a calm spring creek, beaver pond or quiet lake, that short leader could prevent you from catching many fish. While many fishermen automatically know that on calmer water they have to use longer leaders, many of them dont really probe any deeper into “why” they need a longer leader. It isnt the leaders length thats so important. In calm water, what frightens the trout is the line falling to the surface. The longer the leader, the farther away from the fly is the splashdown of the line. But with a longer leader, the more difficult it is to cast and there is a reduction in accuracy. Thus, a 9-foot leader is more accurate and easier to turn over than a 15-footer. Considering this, plus the fact that the splashdown of the line is what is frightening the trout, there is a simple solution. Use a fly line one size lighter than the rod manufacturer recommends. Jim Green, who has designed fly rods for years and is a superb angler, mentioned to me more than three decades ago that he almost always used a line one size lighter when fishing dry flies where the trout were spooky or the water was calm. I tried it and have routinely followed his advice. So, for example, if you are using a six weight rod, you can drop down to a five weight line with no problem. In fact, in very delicate fishing conditions, I often drop down two sizes in line weights. There is a reason. Weight and speed need to vary. Fly rods are designed to cast a particular weight of line, with a good bit of line speed. If you drop down a line size, you benefit in two ways. One, the line is going to alight on the water softer than a heavier line. Two, because it is not as heavy, it doesnt develop as much line speed. A line traveling at high speed often comes to the water with a heavier impact than one that is moving slower. Even with a line two sizes lighter, you can still cast a dry fly or nymph far more distance than what is called for in delicate trout fishing situations. So you dont hamper yourself at all by using a line lighter than the rod suggests. Best of all, you can now use a shorter leader, since impact on the surface has been lessened. There is a second situation where a lighter than normal line will help you if you are a fairly good caster. The wind is blowing and you need to reach out to a distant target. Many try to solve this common problem by using a line one size heavier. The usual thinking is that a heavier line allows them to throw more weight and, they hope, get more distance. Actually, going to a heavier line means that they complicate the problem. On a cast, the line unrolls toward the target in a loop form. The larger the loop, the more energy is thrown in a direction that is not at the target. When fishermen overload a fly rod with a line heavier than the manufacturer calls for, they cause the rod to flex more deeply, which creates larger loops on longer casts. Overloading the rod wastes casting energy by not directing it at the target. If you switch to a lighter line, you may not have enough weight outside the rod tip to cause the rod to load or flex properly if you hold the normal amount of line outside the rod during casting. But if you extend this lighter line about 10 feet or a little more outside the rod than you normally would for this cast under calm conditions, you can cast a greater distance into the wind. By extending the additional amount of lighter line outside the rod, you cause it to flex as if you were false casting the normal length of the recommended line size. Since the rod is now flexing properly, it will deliver tight loops, but the lighter line is thinner. This means that there will be less air resistance encountered on the cast. If you are forced to cast a longer distance into the wind, switch to one size lighter line and extend a little more line outside the rod tip than you normally would. This means, of course, that you need to be able to handle a longer line during false casting. But the line that is lighter than the rod calls for will let you cast farther into the breeze. Wedding Planning - Part IX

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

By Michael Russell In this last article in our series on wedding planning we’re going to be covering the big day itself, the day of your wedding. Well, you’ve finally made it. The day of your wedding. It seemed like this day would never come. Now it’s here. Obviously the actual plans for the day are going to vary from person to person depending on time of ceremony and reception but there are a few things that are pretty constant. For starters, this is the day when you’ll be getting your hair done. When you arrive at the stylist make sure you go in some beat around clothes. You don’t want to have your hair done in your wedding gown. If you’re the groom, go get a haircut. Again, go in a pair of jeans and an old shirt. After you get home make sure you shower and shave since your haircut will probably have you looking like you’ve been shedding with all the loose hairs all over your neck. For both the bride and groom, take your time getting dressed. Fortunately for both they’ll have lots of help with this, the groom his best man and the bride her maid of honor. Make sure that after dressing you take a good look in the mirror so that everything is in place. For the bride, make sure your makeup is applied properly. You don’t want to overdo it here as the last thing you want is for people to think you’re trying out for a part as a circus clown. Less is more. If everything is going according to plan the transportation to the ceremony should be arriving at your home on schedule. Have a family member check to make sure that everything that needs to be brought to the ceremony and reception is ready. The last thing you want is for something to be left behind and for someone to have to run back to the house to get it. Especially make sure you bring a change of clothes with you for when you leave for your honeymoon. When you arrive at the ceremony let the clergyman take things from there. These people have done many weddings and you can be certain that everything will go as planned. You’ll be nervous enough deciding if you really want to go through with this without having to worry about the person conducting the service screwing things up. After the ceremony itself things will start to get a little crazy. At the reception the photographer is going to want to take a lot of photos and many things are going to seem staged. Sadly, they are. That’s just the way weddings are. Go with it. Have fun with a lot of the cliche stuff. You’ll look back at it someday and laugh. Most of all, have a good time. This is YOUR day. Hopefully it will be the only wedding you will ever have if you’re one of the fortunate few who actually stays married until death do you part. Take a good look around. Don’t let the day pass you by. Make a mental note of everything that you can. You will be glad that you did this as your wedding day is one that you truly will want to remember. In a world where so much is forgotten so quickly this is one day you will hope to be able to replay in your mind for years to come. ——————————————————- Michael Russell Your Independent guide to Weddings ——————————————————- Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Michael_Russell http://EzineArticles.com/?Wedding-Planning—Part-IX&id=132180 chicks between party said back much fuck before hooked more free still sex about video got samples all myspace might layout way fuck came bitch any incest they sex any preteen would

Marketing Training - Things to Look for in a Training Program

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

By Kelly Smith One thing I have learned in network marketing is when you have training in one specific company you may be doomed when applying it to the next. Why is generic training in the marketing industry so important? Compensation plans are different, products and services can be different even the way the company does presentations can be different. Let me give you an example of what can happen to peoples mindset when they have gone through company-oriented training. When we were involved in a company that dealt in long distance plans, it went under many people even the ones making good money, quit. Just quit. Heres why they didnt have training they could apply to any company or business that taught them about mindset, being a leader or how to develop a solid team. When you have generic training, you literally have the ability even if you lost all your money (bankruptcy for example) to start all over again, no fear. Do you think Donald Trump or Robert Kiyosoki would have a problem, if someone took all of their money to start from scratch? They have the knowledge. Just remember, yes knowledge is power, but only if you act on it and take massive action. Here are some key things to look for in a generic training program: Talking to People/Leads on The Phone Learn how to talk to leads on the phone and within minutes get them to evaluate your business. A trainer/mentor should be able to show you how to close people to evaluate your program within 45 seconds. The introductory conversation should only be about 2 - 3 minutes in length. Leads Learning how to generate leads can ultimately save you money and bring you people who are truly interested in your business. They will also have previewed it before you even spoke to them. Lets face it, it takes work to generate your own leads and setting it up. If you truly want to generate your own leads it isnt a magic pill. Bringing people to your website is a process, so start calling leads while setting up your lead generations system. Mindset You hear it all the time in those company trainings, stay positive, have energy when you talk to people and have the right mindset. Heres the Truth. Without the right MINDSET, nothing will work. Did you know you can literally reprogram your subconscious and unconscious areas of the mind to train your beliefs for success and failure? With the right information, it can be done. Its not just about positive or motivational thinking. Do they teach you how to tap into the right mindset? This should be the heart of the training but it usually isnt. Conference Calls/Presentations Doing your own presentations over the phone or online can be so powerful and save you time. Why would you want to spend 20 to 30 minutes of your time talking to every prospect when you can talk to many prospects for 20 to 30 minutes once or twice? Did you know ultimately the person who makes the big money is the one doing the conference calls and presentations? This is an extremely powerful skill to learn. Teach others Be a leader. Also not in the typical company training manual, they just teach you duplication, but not really how to teach others. Why dont they teach you how to become a leader? Because they need followers, especially ones who cant be self-sufficient. Be a Leader When you are a leader, you are constantly in control of your own destiny, personally and financially. You will have true partnerships instead of depending on your upline. Learn how to cut the apron strings and be on your own. Quit the blame game because it is your business and your responsibility. Leaders are accountable. Become a role model. Conclusion There are so many get rich Automated Programs but its hard to know what really works. I stick to real people who have made money and can mentor me or answer my questions if needed. There are some very successful marketers so look for ones who will be accessible and be leery of programs that will supposedly bring in droves of customers, business partners and clients and you dont have any real contact with the marketers who started the program in the first place. Also, many of these programs will teach people to spam others to get into their business. That should be a red flag. Kelly and Brad Smith are the founders of BKS Marketing & Income Strategies. Is Asset Protection Legal?

Monday, July 16th, 2007

By Floyd Tapia Perhaps you’ve heard of or seen Hollywood’s portrayal of Swiss Bank accounts, Offshore Trusts and Corporations, and Tax Havens of the rich and famous as jet setting moguls live mysterious yet exciting lives. But in the real world, although these same financial structures (most administrated by reputable and legal banks), have been around for hundreds of years, there are still many people who consider the above strategic asset protection entities as illegal. I think we need to look at what they were intended to do. Asset or lawsuit protection laws were designed for the very purpose of protecting your assets from being frozen and the possibility of unjust forfeiture. Still others consider asset protection a moral dilemma… something unethical or dishonest. This is the furthest thing from the truth. But, at the same time, I’m not trying to start a moral debate here nor am I recommending nor would any attorney in their right mind advise that you avoid paying a judgment or fine that you rightfully owe. That being said, I feel you should be in the position to make the final verdict on what is fair and right. Because when lifetime, incumbent judges and bleeding-heart juries stop handing out ludicrous decisions, then I’ll be the first person to tell you that you’ll no longer need to protect your hard earned assets. I guess the irony of it is, collection lawyers, government agencies such as the IRS and the FTC, and everyone outside the asset protection circle, make every effort to characterize legal asset protection as dishonest, fraudulent, or worse. Of course, their motives are transparent. They viciously denounce anyone who successfully stop their efforts to collect or seize their assets which then disrupts the stream of income flowing in their direction. So, total asset protection is NOT illegal or a privilege; it is a freedom protected by the U.S. Constitution. Imagine that. I think most people would be totally surprised at how many of our politicians and well known corporate giants have gone offshore to safe guard their millions in assets. Looking into asset protection and then taking action to protect your business and personal assets maybe one of the most important and intelligent financial decisions you may ever make. So, talk to an asset protection consultant and attorney now… before its too late. Because the cost of setting these protection devices in place will be ridiculously small compared to the cost of losing your home, cars, retirement and investment accounts. Not to mention the unimagineable stress. Do it now. About The Author Floyd Tapia has over 8 years of tireless work and research experience on the topic of total asset protection. August Is Blueberry Month

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

By Aldene Fredenburg There’s no better season than summer, when access to fresh, locally grown produce is at its peak. And August is great, because locally harvested blueberries abound. Blueberries are full of antioxidants, including lutein, a compound identified as effective in preventing and sometimes reversing macular degeneration, the most common cause of blindness in older people. And what a delicious way to protect your health! Pour them into a saucepan with a little sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch, heat until you’ve got a thick, syrupy, concoction, pour into a pie crust and bake, for a wonderful blueberry pie. Or simply put a handful of fresh blueberries over your morning cereal, or in a fresh green salad for a little extra punch. Gourmet blueberry jams and syrups retain the healthy qualities of fresh raw blueberries, so don’t be afraid to add these delights to your diet. A tablespoon of blueberry jam spread over a piece of whole wheat toast is a healthy start to your day; a generous dollop of warmed blueberry syrup poured over a stack of pancakes or a bowl of vanilla ice cream is a great treat for any time of day. Make sure you take full advantage of the summer growing season by enjoying the local produce available at your grocery stores and farmer’s markets. And be sure to include fresh, locally grown blueberries in your purchases; it’s a delicious way to enjoy the best summer has to offer.
